Airframe Assembly & Tooling Supervisor

Step into the heart of aerospace production

At 3:00 PM, you rally a skilled second-shift team—setting priorities, reinforcing safety, and clearing roadblocks so every build stays on track. You bridge what just wrapped on first shift with what must launch tonight, translating schedules and quality goals into clear, actionable direction. You mentor, you coach, and you celebrate wins that lift morale and performance across the Assembly Department.

Your impact

  • Lead second-shift assembly operations starting at 3:00 PM, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Communicate plans, objectives, quality issues, and progress between shifts so customer commitments are consistently met.
  • Assign work aligned to department priorities; monitor output to achieve performance metrics.
  • Provide feedback, mentorship, and on-the-job training; ensure all team members complete and maintain required training.
  • Troubleshoot constraints, escalate issues appropriately, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and model-based definition data to determine fabrication methods.
  • Fabricate, revise, and maintain tools, fixtures, jigs, and related components to support production.
  • Partner with management to align programs and department objectives.
  • Promote a tidy, organized work area; safeguard equipment and facilities.
  • Collaborate across teams to maximize throughput and efficiency; take on other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing, including conventional machines and jig/fixture manufacturing.
  • 3+ years leading or supervising in a manufacturing setting.
  • Must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, qualifying as a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R.

Preferred

  • Thrives in fast-paced work; adept at juggling multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Confident leading processes, overseeing projects, and seeking improvement opportunities.
  • Proven collaborator with management to elevate site performance.

Supervisory scope

Oversight of the Assembly Department.

Travel

Primarily local during business hours; certain projects may require out-of-area travel and occasional overnights.

Working conditions

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
  • Occasional exposure to caustic chemicals; moderate noise environment.
  • Travel to other site locations during the workday may be required.
  • Weekend work may be necessary to meet department and business needs.
  • Follow safe manufacturing practices; eyewear is mandatory in manufacturing areas; safety shoes are recommended.
