Scope: Quality Inspector ensures that products and materials meet established quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation. A Quality Inspector, also known as a QA Inspector, is responsible for reviewing products and materials during manufacturing to ensure they meet standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect Products and Materials: Conduct visual inspections and use measurement tools to verify dimensions, tolerances, and specifications, including CMM and Faro dimensional inspections, height, length, ID/OD, true position, runout, concentricity, flatness, thread standards, and roundness.
  • Testing and Quality Checks: Perform quality inspections to identify defects, deviations, or non-conforming products and actively participate in identifying and troubleshooting the recommended adjustments to production machining processes.
  • Documentation: Verify part traceability, paperwork accuracy, and configuration to the correct drawing revision. Record inspection results, maintain logs, and input data into quality databases to track product quality and rework. Perform First Article Inspections 100% dimensional and visual inspection of machined components in accordance with drawings, technical instructions, and AS9100 requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work with manufacturing teams to prevent defects, improve processes, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Gauge Calibration: Ensure measurement gauges are calibrated, maintained, and function properly. Coordinates external calibrations, source inspections, and quality audits with customers, suppliers, and governmental agencies.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to detect minor defects and inconsistencies that could affect product quality.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of quality control methods, blueprints, Microsoft Office 365, netInspec, Discuss, Zeiss Calypso, Faro Cam 2, and product specifications.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve quality issues efficiently, often collaborating with teams to determine the cause and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills to report findings and coordinate with production, quality, and engineering team members to resolve problems.

Work Experience:1–10 years of experience in quality control or related field

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; A.S. Degree, technical certification in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), metrology or a related field is preferred.
