A day in the life

You start your shift with a quick walk‑through of the building and grounds, checking dock doors, lighting, and the conveyor line. A sensor fault pops up—your electrical and mechanical troubleshooting kicks in. After a safe lockout/tagout, you resolve the issue and bring the line back up. Later, you complete preventive maintenance on the conveyor and HVAC, repair a damaged floor section near receiving, and log all work in the equipment files. When needed, you hop on a forklift or order picker to position parts. You finish by supporting a safety walk, offering suggestions, and tidying up spills to keep the area work‑clean.

What you’ll do

  • Keep the CFC building, exterior, grounds, utilities, and fixtures fully functional.
  • Maintain building structures using basic carpentry, electrical, and HVAC skills.
  • Maintain the warehouse conveyor system using electrical and mechanical abilities.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Interpret machine and building drawings.
  • Repair property issues (floors, dock doors, lighting, and more).
  • Manage facility equipment files and documentation.
  • Operate material handling equipment and conveyors; drive pallet jacks and forklifts; operate turret trucks and order pickers.
  • Assist with OSHA safety compliance; follow SOPs and champion our Safety Culture.
  • Engage in safety teams, offer suggestions, and help identify and mitigate risks.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards; support MSC culture across the site.
  • Sort and match departmental reports; clean spills; take on special projects as assigned.
  • Cross‑functionally, you may also support receiving activities such as inspecting shipments and verifying items and quantities in a fast‑moving environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of carpentry practices
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulics, electrical information, and pneumatics

Physical demands

  • Regular sitting, standing, walking; lifting up to 75 lbs (individual or team lift); carrying, pushing, pulling
  • Climbing stairs; using legs and arms to climb; balancing; stooping; kneeling; repeated bends; reaching high/low; repetitive wrist/hand motions
  • Hearing and vision (including depth and peripheral); strong mental coordination and alertness for the entire shift
  • Use of required PPE; ability to work at heights up to 50 feet

Other requirements

  • Obtain internal certification to drive warehouse vehicles within the specified timeframe
