Oracle EBS R12 Financials Consultant – Fixed Assets, SLA, Projects (Chicago – Hybrid, Local Only)

Chicago-based hybrid role — two days onsite per week, the rest remote — focused on core Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12 Financials. You'll do hands-on delivery across Fixed Assets, Subledger Accounting (SLA), and Project Accounting, working directly with Finance stakeholders.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Oracle EBS R12 Financials Functional Consultant to lead implementations, upgrades, and production support across core EBS R12 modules. The ideal candidate is a functional SME with deep expertise in Oracle Assets (FA), Subledger Accounting (SLA / Accounting Methods Builder), General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, and Project Accounting (Costing/Billing), comfortable in an onshore-offshore delivery model. This role is hybrid, based in Chicago, IL, with 2 days onsite per week. Local Chicago-area candidates only — no relocation.

Work Authorization & Engagement Terms:

• Open to U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders (Lawful Permanent Residents) only.
• No visa sponsorship is available now or in the future.
• W2 only — Corp-to-Corp (C2C) engagements are not available.
• Must currently reside in the Chicago metro area and be able to be onsite 2 days per week. No relocation.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and support Oracle Assets (FA): asset books, categories, depreciation methods, capitalization, mass additions, transfers, and retirements, with reconciliation to GL.
• Configure Subledger Accounting (SLA) using the Accounting Methods Builder (AMB): journal line types, account derivation rules, mapping sets, and application accounting definitions.
• Lead core Financials setups: Chart of Accounts, Multi-Org (MOAC), ledgers, AGIS/intercompany, FSG reporting, and approval hierarchies (AME).
• Support GL, AP, AR, Cash Management, and Project Accounting (Costing & Billing) across month-end close.
• Build and troubleshoot interfaces and conversions via Open Interfaces/APIs, WebADI, and Data Loader.
• Write and troubleshoot PL/SQL for data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
• Lead fit-gap, CRP, SIT/UAT, cutover, and post-go-live support; produce AIM/BR100 documentation.
• Support 11i-to-R12 upgrades and patching cycles; mentor offshore functional resources.

Required Qualifications

• Currently located in the Chicago metro area and able to work onsite 2 days per week (no relocation).
• 10+ years of hands-on Oracle EBS R12 Financials functional experience (AP, AR, GL, FA, CM, Projects).
• Deep hands-on Oracle Assets (FA) configuration and asset capitalization experience.
• Strong Subledger Accounting (SLA) / Accounting Methods Builder (AMB) expertise.
• Experience with Project Accounting (Costing/Billing) and Multi-Org (MOAC) setups.
• Proficiency writing PL/SQL for troubleshooting, data validation, and reconciliation.
• Experience leading fit-gap, SIT/UAT, cutover, period-close, and R12 upgrades; AIM/BR100 documentation.

Preferred

• Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials exposure (migration/coexistence) a plus.
• EBTax / third-party tax (Vertex, Sabrix) and OA Framework / Forms personalization.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Accounting, or related field.
