Deburring Operator – Aerospace Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Deburring Operator to support aerospace manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from machined and fabricated metal components to ensure parts meet precision, safety, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience working with small precision parts, understands aerospace tolerances, and takes pride in producing high-quality finished components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material from machined parts using hand tools, power tools, and deburring equipment

  • Perform fine finishing, polishing, smoothing, and edge-breaking to meet blueprint and aerospace specifications

  • Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances

  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers

  • Handle small and delicate aerospace components with care to avoid damage

  • Maintain clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and 5S standards

  • Identify defects and communicate quality concerns to supervisors or quality team

  • Support production deadlines while maintaining precision and consistency

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in deburring, grinding, polishing, or metal finishing in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to read basic blueprints and follow written instructions

  • Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination

  • Comfortable working with small precision aerospace components

  • Ability to use hand tools such as files, deburring blades, sandpaper, polishing wheels, and air tools

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and handle repetitive work

Preferred / Bonus Skills

  • Experience in aerospace or precision machining environment

  • Familiarity with tight tolerances and surface finish requirements

  • Experience using microscopes, magnification tools, or inspection gauges

  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to metal finishing and grinding

  • Basic quality inspection experience

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing / aerospace production setting

  • Exposure to metal dust, polishing compounds, and shop equipment (PPE required)

  • Fast-paced, quality-driven environment
