Manufacturing Process Engineering Technician

  • Mocksville, NC
  • 35 - 38 USD Hourly

Role Snapshot

Location: Mocksville, North Carolina (Onsite)

Schedule: 7:00am – 4:00pm

A Day in the Life

You start your day on the production floor, shadowing a manufacturing engineer to map a current assembly process. By mid-morning, you’re comparing takt time and first-pass yield data to find waste. After lunch, you update a BOM to reflect a Drop Zone change, then facilitate a quick Kaizen huddle to standardize a work step. You close the day by packaging your findings into a short briefing for your mentor and cross-functional partners. Tomorrow, you’ll repeat the cycle on a new line—learning fast, improving faster.

What You’ll Do

  • Absorb, document, and compare diverse manufacturing methods and process flows.
  • Analyze current-state operations and recommend improvements guided by SQDIP pillars: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Performance.
  • Assist with Drop Zone changes and perform accurate BOM revisions.
  • Coordinate with internal and external engineering groups; present updates to peers and leaders.
  • Lead or support Kaizen events and 5S/standard work initiatives to remove waste and improve consistency.
  • Drive quality and throughput gains on the line through data-driven problem solving.
  • Partner with other functions (quality, supply chain, operations) to align on implementation.

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM tools.
  • Collaborative leader with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable with technology; proactive and team-oriented.
