CNC Mill-Turn Setup Specialist (Medical Devices)

Join our Akron, OH team on a first-shift schedule and run multi-tasking CNC mill-turn equipment to produce medical instruments and implants. You’ll own your setup, keep machines running at peak performance, and verify quality through careful inspection and documentation.

A day in this role

You arrive for 1st shift, review the job traveler and I.P. sheets, and stage tooling for the next run. You set up a mill-turn machine, dial in offsets, and complete the First Piece Log before releasing the job. Throughout the day you manage change-overs and tool size changes, keep the machine maintained, deburr finished parts, and inspect features using a variety of measuring tools—ensuring every component meets print and GD&T requirements.

Core responsibilities

  • Independently operate a range of CNC mill-turn machines
  • Perform complete machine setups for new jobs and repeat work
  • Execute daily preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Process production documentation (job traveler, I.P. sheets, and related records)
  • Initiate and maintain the First Piece Log
  • Perform tool changes, change-overs, and tool size adjustments
  • Set tooling across all machine types within your assigned zone
  • Fabricate medical instruments and implants, then deburr and finish parts
  • Inspect parts using appropriate gauges and equipment to verify conformance

  • 2+ years of hands-on CNC machine operation
  • Advanced print interpretation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T
