Join our production team as a versatile technician who alternates between feeding paperboard blanks into forming equipment and packing finished clamshell and fry cartons. You’ll keep machines supplied, quality on point, and cases moving—helping the line run smoothly from start to finish.

A Day in the Life
At the start of your shift, you gear up with required PPE, touch base with the operator or supervisor, and get the line ready. Depending on production needs, you’ll rotate between Feeder and Packer responsibilities:
When you’re the Feeder
- Supply a minimum of 4 machines by lifting, pre-breaking paper blanks, and loading product into feed hoppers.
- Keep pace across up to 6 formers, ensuring continuous, reliable flow.
- Remove plastic from loads, pull tickets, and provide those tickets to the operator.
- Watch quality at the source—verify cartons are straight, remove loose scrap, and sort as directed by the operator.
- Manage R.S.C. inventory and deliver R.S.C.’s to case packers to maintain production.
- Practice strong housekeeping and follow all safety and food-safety protocols (GMPs, PPEs, HACCP & JSA).
- Pitch in with other tasks as needed.
When you’re the Packer
- Catch and maintain 6 lanes and pull product from forming chutes at the count mark.
- Perform basic quality control—remove defective product and replace with good product.
- Confirm proper glue application and correct counts in sleeves; complete quality check-off sheets.
- After quality checks, place product into a bag; place the sleeved product into a bag, then bag into a case, and case onto the conveyor.
- Assist operators with cleaning glue tips and provide break/lunch coverage for packers.
- Help with labeling, repacking boxes, and keeping the area neat and clean.
- Make and label boxes; fill glue containers for machines.
- Perform clean-up and check with operators or your supervisor for anything else needed.
- Maintain housekeeping and adhere to GMPs, PPEs, and HACCP & JSA requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Packaging experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Reliable team player who can read and comprehend safety rules, internal quality procedures, and machine operating procedures.
- Clear communicator of production and machine issues with supervisors and coworkers.
- Comfortable working around machinery in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic math skills, including counting and addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Working Environment & Physical Demands
- Required PPE: safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes; task-specific PPE may also be required.
- Physical activity: continuous use of hands/fingers and reaching; frequent bending and movement around the work area.
- Occasional activities: remaining stationary, climbing steps, pushing/pulling, and communicating.
- Ability to move and position up to 35 pounds.
- Vision requirements: close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.
Other duties as assigned will help you support the line wherever needed to keep production running safely and efficiently.
