CPM Scheduling Analyst – Heavy Civil

CPM Scheduling Analyst – Heavy Civil

Your day, reimagined

You start the morning syncing with Project Managers and Estimating to translate plans and specs into a clean Primavera P6 baseline. By mid-day, you’re building calendars, WBS, logic ties, constraints, and milestones that reflect how the work really happens—from underground utilities through roadway reconstruction and bridge operations. In the afternoon, a field update triggers a what‑if recovery scenario; you model options, evaluate float consumption, and flag the critical path shift. Before you wrap, you assemble a short brief for the Division Manager and Leadership Team, organize backup, and log a TIA fragnet for a utility conflict that emerged on today’s call.

What you will tackle

  • Develop Primavera P6 baseline CPM schedules in close partnership with Project Managers, Estimating, and Operations leadership.
  • Independently interpret drawings, specifications, bid data, contracts, and scheduling clauses to architect schedule structure and field‑ready sequencing.
  • Configure calendars, WBS, activities, logic relationships, durations, milestones, constraints, and coding within P6.
  • Embed contractual milestones, procurement and submittal workflows, utility coordination, traffic control, testing, and closeout needs into the baseline.
  • Apply proven heavy civil means and methods—especially for utilities, streets/roadways, and bridge work—when building and vetting schedules.
  • Maintain and status schedules based on actual progress, resequencing, change orders, and team input; issue look‑aheads as needed.
  • Produce what‑if, recovery, and revision schedules to analyze alternatives and recommend paths to regain time.
  • Track and communicate shifts to critical path, total/Free float, sequencing, and milestone dates to the project team.
  • Carry forward key estimating data—budgets, quantities, and production rates—into baselines and look‑ahead plans.
  • Organize quantities, production, labor/cost info, and durations so PMs can compare planned versus actual performance.
  • Spot early slippage, constraints, and risks; provide timely intelligence to support recovery decisions.
  • Prepare Time Impact Analyses (TIAs), fragnets, and schedule exhibits for delays, changes, differing site conditions, utility conflicts, and change orders.
  • Help standardize scheduling methods, templates, reporting, and project controls practices across Core Operations.
  • Clearly present findings, risks, trends, and recommendations to PMs, the Division Manager, and the Leadership Team.
  • Maintain organized schedule files and complete supporting documentation; perform related duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline strongly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on construction scheduling or project controls experience, ideally in heavy civil, roadway, utility, bridge, or infrastructure work.
  • Advanced command of Primavera P6 and the ability to independently build complete CPM baselines from project documentation.
  • Deep familiarity with heavy civil means, methods, and sequencing—particularly underground utilities, street/roadway reconstruction, and bridge construction.
  • Fluency reading plans, specifications, contracts, bids, project budgets, and contractual scheduling requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project and other project controls/construction management systems preferred.

Physical demands

This role blends office and field exposure: extended sitting, periods of standing/walking, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Regular computer and office‑equipment use requires good hand‑eye coordination and fine motor skills. Site visits demand sufficient mobility and stamina to navigate outdoor construction environments and attend meetings as needed.

Compensation & benefits

  • Competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Company‑paid basic dental, life insurance, and short‑ and long‑term disability
  • Voluntary life, accident, critical illness, and pet insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Quarterly bonus program
  • Paid Time Off (PTO), paid holidays, and paid winter company break (eligible roles)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and wellness resources
  • Tuition reimbursement and continuing education support
  • Scholarship program for eligible dependents
  • Company events, community engagement, and quarterly State of the Company meetings
