Quality Control Technician

Summary

The Quality Control Technician performs visual and physical inspections, sampling, and testing of finished goods to verify compliance with specifications. This role uses mechanical and electrical measuring tools, documents inspection results, coordinates rework when needed, and supports continuous improvement efforts. The technician also trains shop personnel on quality processes and contributes to problem‑solving across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual inspections and measurement tests to confirm product specifications.

  • Record, analyze, and maintain inspection data and reports.

  • Use precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers).

  • Identify root causes and support problem‑solving activities.

  • Maintain inspection equipment and calibration schedules.

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, customer service, sales, and other departments to resolve product issues.

  • Assist with RMA processes as needed.

  • Communicate quality findings clearly across teams.

  • Identify opportunities for quality improvement and escalate concerns.

  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1–2 years of experience as a Quality Control Technician.

  • Experience with hand and power tools.

  • Ability to read electrical/hydraulic schematics, blueprints, welding specs, and engineering documents.

  • Welding or fabrication experience preferred but not required.

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Forklift experience preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.

  • Able to follow instructions, processes, and use specialized equipment.

  • Professional, reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Welding certificate a plus.
