Own the Transition from Build to Operate
Step into a high-availability data center environment in Texas where every test you plan, every checklist you close, and every issue you resolve protects uptime. As our Commissioning Lead, you will orchestrate the end-to-end commissioning program for complex electrical, mechanical, controls, and life-safety systems—bringing a mission‑critical facility to operational readiness.
A Day in the Life
Your morning might start with a readiness huddle—aligning project managers, MEP leads, trade partners, vendors, client operations, and third‑party Cx agents on test scripts for the day. By mid‑day, you’re coordinating UPS and generator sequencing, observing HVAC functional performance tests, and logging deficiencies. In the afternoon, you’re reviewing Bluebeam markups, validating O&M documentation, and chairing a punch‑list burn‑down meeting to keep turnover on track.
What You’ll Own
- Leadership of commissioning across mechanical, electrical, controls, fire protection, and related building systems.
- Creation and governance of commissioning plans, schedules, procedures, checklists, test scripts, and records.
- Daily coordination with Project Managers, MEP Managers, Superintendents, trade contractors, vendors, operations teams, and commissioning agents.
- Execution support for equipment startup, pre‑functional testing, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing (IST), and issue resolution.
- Progress tracking: deficiencies, punch items, system readiness gates, and turnover requirements.
- Technical review of drawings, specs, O&M manuals, submittals, equipment data, and all Cx documentation.
- Assurance that work meets client standards, project specifications, safety protocols, and reliability expectations.
- Facilitation of commissioning meetings, readiness reviews, test planning workshops, and issue‑resolution sessions.
- Support of handover, closeout, operator training, final documentation, and operational readiness.
What You Bring
- Background as a Commissioning Manager/Lead, Cx Manager, Startup Manager, or Systems Completion Manager.
- Experience within data centers, mission‑critical facilities, industrial projects, healthcare, energy, or complex MEP environments.
- Deep knowledge of electrical distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, HVAC and mechanical systems, controls, BAS/BMS, and IST.
- Fluency reading MEP drawings, specifications, commissioning plans, and technical documentation.
- Proven coordination with vendors, trade contractors, construction teams, and client operations.
- Familiarity with commissioning software, Procore, Bluebeam, BIM tools, or tracking platforms is a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organization, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work on‑site in Texas for the duration of the contract.
