Build the control backbone of clean energy
At WECTEC Staffing Services—part of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC—you’ll help power a cleaner future. We’re seeking a senior controls professional for a 1-year contract (W-2) in Juno Beach, FL to architect, implement, and support PLC/SCADA/HMI solutions across utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage projects.
Your mission
Translate complex operational goals into dependable automation. You’ll design PLC control strategies, craft Ignition HMI experiences, configure SCADA for visibility and responsiveness, and lead FAT to validate performance. When it’s time to energize, you’ll be on point for commissioning and startup—ensuring assets operate safely and reliably from day one.
Core responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement PLC-based control systems for PV and BESS
- Program PLCs using function blocks, structured text, and ladder logic
- Configure/maintain SCADA for site monitoring and control
- Develop and test HMIs in Ignition
- Author control narratives, O&M manuals, and Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs)
- Plan and execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Diagnose and resolve control system issues
- Partner with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones
- Document designs, configurations, and revisions thoroughly
- Support commissioning and startup of new and upgraded systems
Your toolkit
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 15 years in PLC programming and industrial automation
- Deep experience with function block, structured text, and ladder logic
- Protocol expertise: Modbus, DNP3, OPC, etc.
- Hands-on with Schneider M340 or M580 PLCs
- Proficiency with the Ignition HMI platform
- Knowledge of solar PV and battery storage architectures
- Understanding of electrical power systems and instrumentation
- End-to-end project experience, from design to commissioning
- Familiarity with leading practices in control systems

Compensation and benefits
- Base pay estimate: $65.00/hr. to 70.00/hr., dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills
