We are seeking a dependable local delivery truck driver with excellent customer service skills. As a part of our shipping/delivery team, you will be responsible for driving the company box truck to various locations around the Indianapolis, IN locale to deliver both in-process parts to vendors and finished goods to customers. Previous warehouse and delivery experience are preferred and a clean driving record is required. The ideal candidate for this position is a diligent worker who can complete tasks successfully with little to no guidance.
Safely transport sheet metal products to and from specified locations around the Indianapolis area
Efficiently plan routes to help meet delivery schedules
Collect and verify delivery instructions
Secure product and properly arrange and balance it within the truck to prevent damage
Assist in the loading and unloading of goods, using hand trucks and forklifts as required
Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with clients
Interact with customers and vendors in a professional manner and maintain a positive attitude
Refuel and clean box truck as needed
Obey and follow applicable traffic laws making safety a priority at all times
Notifying management of any accidents, parking tickets, vehicle damage, and major maintenance issues
Follow written or oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties
Maintain professional appearance and demeanor
Perform other duties as required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Proven work experience as a truck driver
Current commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred. Indiana For-Hire Endorsement is a minimum qualification.
Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize responsibilities
Highly motivated and focused; a self-starter who works well independently
Alert, focused and detail-oriented
High level of composure and good stress management abilities
Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise
Technical competence and adequate computer skills
