Position: Conveyor Technician

Location: Elgin, IL (Chicagoland Travel – Home Daily)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30/4:00 PM + Overtime

Compensation: $22 – $25/hour (with frequent pay increases & OT opportunities)

Position Overview

This is a field-based role supporting customer sites across the Chicagoland area (within ~3-hour radius). Technicians work on conveyor systems and material handling equipment in warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with installation and setup of conveyor and automation systems

• Performing preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs

• Troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues (with training)

• Supporting system startups and service calls at customer sites

• Working alongside senior technicians during initial training period

• Following safety protocols and maintaining clean job sites

Training & Development

New hires will go through a structured, hands-on training program, including shadowing experienced technicians for 30–90 days. The goal is to build confidence in troubleshooting, repairs, and system knowledge.

This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and looking to build a long-term career in automation and field service.

Ideal Background

• 1+ year of experience working around material handling equipment (warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, etc.)

• Experience with forklifts, conveyors, pallet jacks, lifts, or similar equipment preferred

• Strong mechanical aptitude – comfortable using hand & power tools

• Mechanically inclined (hobbies like fixing cars, equipment, etc. are a plus)

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally

• Strong work ethic and desire to learn and grow

• Ability to work overtime and participate in an on-call rotation (every ~6 weeks, with 1.5x pay)

Nice to Have

• Experience troubleshooting conveyors, motors, gearboxes, or sensors

• Forklift certification or technical training/degree

• Openness to occasional future travel as experience grows
