A Day in the Life

Your day begins with a routed schedule and a well-stocked service vehicle. You arrive on-site, greet the customer, review the work order, and dive into diagnosing a rooftop unit that isn’t keeping up. By mid-morning, you’ve calibrated controls, verified refrigerant levels, and documented findings in a clean, accurate ticket. In the afternoon, you install a new split system and associated ductwork in accordance with code and specifications, then finish by walking the customer through recommendations and next steps. Every stop reflects your craftsmanship, safety mindset, and ability to work independently.

What You’ll Handle

  • Troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, split systems, heat pumps, ventilation units, and boilers.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and system performance testing.
  • Install commercial HVAC equipment, ductwork, and controls in accordance with code and specifications.
  • Complete service tickets, work orders, and all documentation with accuracy and clarity.
  • Communicate repair needs, options, and recommendations to customers and the office team.
  • Maintain safe work habits and adhere to OSHA requirements at all times.
  • Keep the company vehicle and tools clean, organized, and in proper working condition.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience (required).
  • Expert troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
  • EPA 608 certification (required).
  • Proven track record working independently without direct supervision.
  • Clean, valid driver’s license (required).
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • HVAC trade school or equivalent field experience preferred.
  • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in varied environments.

Schedule & Territory

  • Monday–Friday as the core schedule.
  • Overtime or emergency service availability as needed.
  • Field-based role serving customers in and around Dayton, Ohio.
