Bilingual HR Operations Specialist

Role Overview

Based in Commerce, CA, you’ll be the connective tissue of HR operations—keeping payroll accurate, records compliant, and employees supported in both Spanish and English. This opportunity begins as a 90-day project with strong potential to convert to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM (1st Shift) | Pay: $30.00–$34.00 per hour

A day in the life

At 7:00 AM, you open your dashboard and scan the attendance point system, flagging trends and preparing any needed disciplinary notices for supervisor review. Before lunch, you’ve issued a couple of new security badges, answered a handful of employee questions at the HR window, and wrapped a new-hire orientation alongside the HR Generalist. The afternoon shifts to precision work—auditing employee files for federal and state compliance, completing I-9s, updating ADP for weekly and bi-weekly payroll, and assembling reports for leadership. You close the day by prepping new hire files, coordinating interviews for tomorrow, and calendaring next week’s benefits fair.

What you’ll handle

  • Track and monitor the attendance point system; spot issues early
  • Prepare and issue security badges for restricted-access areas
  • Draft and route attendance-related disciplinary documents to supervisors
  • Create and distribute a variety of management and HR reports
  • Provide front-line HR customer service; respond to employee inquiries
  • Deliver new hire orientation with the HR Generalist
  • Complete and maintain Form I-9 documentation
  • Maintain precise employee records; file documentation appropriately
  • Assist with HR correspondence and termination documentation
  • Run full-cycle recruitment: requisitions, postings, screening, interviews, and offers
  • Audit employee records to ensure compliance with federal and state laws
  • Assist with workplace investigations
  • Prepare new hire files and onboarding packets
  • Support weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing in ADP
  • Partner with the HR Director and team on special projects
  • Process wage verifications and unemployment claims
  • Help prepare and distribute W-2s and payroll-related reports
  • Facilitate site-wide events (benefits fairs, team events, volunteer activities)
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & experience

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s in HR, Business, or related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of administrative experience, ideally in HR or a manufacturing/industrial setting
  • Experience with ADP payroll systems preferred
  • Familiarity with ITAR compliance, security badging, or union environments is a plus
