CNC Set Up Technician - Fort Wayne, Indiana Contract position through 2026 (Potential contract-to-hire) Pay Rate: up to $27.00 per hour (based on proven work history) Third Shift position: 11:00pm - 7:30am - training required on 1st shift (approx. 3 weeks)
Job Description of the CNC Set Up Technician: Responsible for CNC machine troubleshooting, updating tool paths and completing set ups for CNC Lathes in a high volume production environment.
Knowledge of Hard Turning, Green Turning, Milling, Broaching, and Part Finishing machining processes
Knowledge to teach robot and gantry pickup points
Knowledge of Nachi robot controls
General understanding of manufacturing processes and detailed knowledge of lathe tooling/programming
Responsibilities of the CNC Set Up Technician:
Production machine changeovers
Troubleshooting loading devices and minor machine issues
Replacing indicators/trucks for production changes
Not expected to perform advanced electrical maintenance
Required Experience and Education of the CNC Set Up Technician:
Minimum 2-5 years of CNC lathe set up experience in a manufacturing environment
Interpreting G and M codes
Machine set ups and changeovers on CNC lathes
Troubleshoot daily production problems through root cause analysis techniques as they occur
Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and indicators
High School Diploma or GED required
