Metal Casting Operations & WIP Control Lead

Why this role matters

When component flow stalls, production stalls. You’ll be the point person who keeps materials and information moving, ensuring our foundry hits schedule, quality, and cost targets—every day.

Your impact

• Own interdepartmental material movement—fast, accurate, and traceable.
• Issue daily visibility: work progress, transaction activity, cycle counts, and open MO status.
• Hold the line on controlled WIP to optimize throughput.
• Reconcile SFM vs. ERP data across transactions, quantities, and locations.
• Design replenishment for floor stock, including milk runs and min/max tactics.
• Partner with Purchasing on material reviews and replenishment quantities.
• Introduce and sustain improvements using safety stock and Kanban systems.
• Keep the production schedule current so every MO’s components are visible to the team.
• Tackle ad hoc projects with data-driven analysis.

What you bring

• HS diploma/GED or equivalent experience; Associate’s in Operations is advantageous.
• Experience in discrete manufacturing operations.
• Process-first mindset and strong analytical capability.
• Judicious decision-making and ability to sustain new processes.
• Self-motivated, flexible, change agent, and results focused.
• Professional, respectful communicator across verbal, written, and digital channels.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Great Plains ERP and MES (labor/material transactions); strong MS Office skills; MS Dynamics 365 familiarity is a plus.
