Electronic X-Ray Operator (Travel Contract)

Overview

FlexTrades offers 3-6 month Travel contract positions for highly skilled CNC Machinists for Manufacturing clients across the US. We provide hotel accommodations, Travel Pay, $45 per diem, and Overtime.

X-ray Operator

• Operating an Vitrox branded x-ray machine for in-process inspection of PCBs by loading PCBs into the machine, pulling and running the program, and then reviewing 2D x-ray images.

Responsibilities

• - The images appear in black and white on an HMI screen. The machine will determine if all components and aspects of the board meet quality requirements and then determine pass/fails. If there is a failure, the X-ray Operator will review that failure to see if it’s actually a failure or if it actually falls into quality parameters.

  • It is important to note that the machine may call something out as a failure and it’s not a failure, so the review process is critical to ensuring the quality of the board. The ideal candidate will have experience operating x-ray machines and reading the 2D images produced.

  • It is also important to note that this is NOT AOI (automatic optical inspection) equipment. That is a different type of machinery which is placed at the end of an SMT line. This x-ray machine sits independent of any machinery or soldering applications.

  • Additionally, it takes a little extra skill to be able to do this work by reviewing 2D images rather than 3D images.

Must Have reliable transportation, and a valid driver's Licence

You should be proficient in:

• Quality Inspection Experience
• IPC-A-610
• Electrical Troubleshooting Skills
• Soldering
• PCB Components (Printed Circuit Board Components)
• Electrical / Electronic Systems
