CNC Mill/Turn Setup & Prove‑Out Specialist — Aerospace

Location: Indianapolis, IN | Employment: Temp-to-Hire | Shifts: All available

Pay: $27–$34/hour DOE + shift differential

What you will do

  • Own complex setups on large Mazak 5-axis mill/turn centers
  • Cut aerospace parts from 35" up to 65" in diameter in titanium, Inconel, stainless, and more
  • Translate blueprints/routers into efficient machining plans
  • Set work coordinates, tool offsets, and home positions with indicators and probing
  • Safely prove out new and existing programs using single-block and distance-to-go
  • Deploy Haimer heat-shrink tooling and Speroni measurement systems
  • Troubleshoot issues, make intelligent adjustments, and keep production moving
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Programming on NPI and process optimization
  • Follow aerospace quality and safety procedures without exception
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

What makes you a fit

  • 3–6+ years in CNC machining with complex setup experience
  • Comfort reading/understanding blueprints, GD&T, routers, and work instructions
  • Hands-on experience machining high-temp alloys (titanium, Inconel, stainless)
  • Problem-solver who works independently and communicates clearly
  • Proficient with precision inspection tools and methods
  • Solid grasp of machining fundamentals and tight-tolerance work
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Able to lift 25+ lbs

Bonus points

  • Mazak control and equipment background
  • 5-axis mill/turn experience in aerospace
  • G/M code familiarity and program prove-out experience
  • Haimer heat-shrink and Speroni presetting exposure
  • Machining Technology certificate (or related)
  • Lean/CI experience
