A night on the floor

At 6:00 pm, you pick up the handoff from day shift and scan the CMMS queue. A thermoformer is tripping a breaker, a conveyor needs precision alignment after a changeover, and a new extrusion line is ready for commissioning checks. You move from diagnosis to fix: tracing a 480V 3-phase fault, calibrating sensors, reviewing P&IDs, and coaching teammates through root cause analysis. By 2:00 am, uptime is restored, parts are kitted for a preventive task, and a reliability improvement is logged for the morning meeting. This is where your expertise shines—keeping complex systems safe, stable, and productive.

What you’ll tackle

  • Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sophisticated production and facility systems spanning electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation domains.
  • Lead root cause investigations for breakdowns, chronic downtime, and process losses; implement durable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Diagnose high-voltage circuits up to 480V 3‑phase, DC drives, motor control, and low-voltage I/O using advanced test equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and revise electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, OEM manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Perform precision alignment, calibration, and installations with advanced measuring and testing tools.
  • Drive predictive and preventive maintenance programs to elevate reliability and maximize uptime.
  • Execute complex mechanical repairs including fabrication, welding, machining, and custom component modifications.
  • Commission, start up, validate, and optimize new equipment and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance to improve safety, throughput, and product quality.
  • Support troubleshooting and optimization of thermoforming, extrusion, and related high-speed processes.
  • Use CMMS to document work, analyze failure trends, manage work orders, and maintain spares.
  • Recommend and deliver continuous improvements around reliability, energy efficiency, safety, and cost.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, lockout/tagout, electrical standards, and company policies.
  • Keep work areas organized and clean to sustain a safe, efficient environment.
  • Respond to emergencies and support operations during critical production events.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or industrial maintenance certification preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical theory, motor controls, and power distribution.
  • Proven strength troubleshooting PLC‑controlled machinery.
  • Robust mechanical aptitude across pneumatics, hydraulics, and power transmission.
  • Ability to resolve complex failures independently.
  • Proficiency with precision metrology, electrical test instruments, and industrial tools.
  • Fluency in reading electrical schematics, ladder logic, mechanical blueprints, and technical specs.
  • Welding, fabrication, and machining experience preferred.
  • CMMS proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Background in thermoforming, extrusion, packaging, or high‑speed manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong command of OSHA requirements, LOTO, and industrial safety practices.
