Quality Systems & Process Engineering Specialist

Step into a day in the life

You start the morning reviewing overnight yield data and nonconformance trends. By mid-day, you’re at the MRB table guiding Root Cause Corrective Actions. In the afternoon, you’re coaching a team on tightening a control plan and closing out a supplier audit. Along the way, you’re the connective tissue between customers, suppliers, and the shop floor—ensuring every product meets its promise.

Role overview

As a Process Quality Engineer at our New Kensington, PA site, you will design, operate, and continuously refine quality systems that elevate product reliability and production performance. You’ll apply metrology, statistics, and human-factors savvy to prevent defects, streamline inspection, and harden processes across complex programs.

What you will do

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze data and drive down process and product nonconformances; publish clear, actionable reports.
  • Own APQP quality planning: craft robust control and inspection plans; lead PPAP, FAIR, and FMEA/PFMEA activities.
  • Champion continuous improvement; facilitate MRB and lead RCCA to durable closure.
  • Work directly with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing to resolve issues and validate all product quality requirements.
  • Contribute to enterprise quality initiatives and improvement roadmaps; mentor and train teammates as needed.
  • Conduct internal, product, process, document, supplier, and customer audits to recognized standards.

What you bring

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or a two-year engineering-related degree plus 5+ years in manufacturing quality (or an equivalent mix of education and experience).
  • Background in battery production, machining, or electronic assembly/harnessing is advantageous.
  • Uncompromising professional ethics; strength in facilitation, conflict resolution, and leadership.
  • Sharp analytical capability to interpret data, spot trends, and steer decisions that boost performance.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; able to build executive-ready presentations and reports.
  • Fluency with ERP/MRP (e.g., Infor Syteline, SAP) and comfort with data-intensive interfaces; expert-level CAD/CAE user preferred.
  • High proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); advanced Excel required.
  • Willing to travel 10%–25% as business requires.
