EDM Sinker Field Diagnostics Specialist (CNC/Mitsubishi)

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose complex faults and execute on-site repairs on Mitsubishi Sinker EDM systems.
  • Disassemble, rebuild, align, and verify mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Guide customers by phone to isolate faults and restore uptime when a site visit isn’t required.
  • Translate schematics and block diagrams into clear, actionable fixes.
  • Document issues, resolutions, parts usage, and follow-ups in detail.
  • Partner with customers through clear, professional communication.
  • Take on other assigned tasks as operational needs evolve.

What You Bring

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • CNC programming familiarity (G-code/M-code) preferred.
  • Fluency with Windows operating systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; collaborative mindset in fast-paced settings.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively; valid driver’s license required.

Education & Experience

  • Two-year Electronic or Technical degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on use of electrical test/inspection equipment (voltmeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
  • Proven background in mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience with precision metrology (dial indicators, micrometers, calipers).

Working Conditions

  • Mainly indoor environments with potential exposure to weather shifts (heat, cold, wind, rain, sun).
  • Proximity to moving machinery; moderate to loud noise.
  • Significant driving and overtime expected; ability to operate a motor vehicle and a valid driver’s license are required.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent bending, twisting, standing, speaking, hearing, and kneeling.
  • Repetitive hand use including squeezing, keyboarding, and crouching.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying 1–10 lbs; recurrent lifting 11–20 lbs; occasional lifting/carrying 21–50+ lbs.
  • Constant push/pull 1–50 lbs; infrequent push/pull >50 lbs using handcarts or wheeled devices.
  • Excellent visual and color acuity required.
