PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to support a leading aerospace organization in Schenectady, NY. In this hands-on role, you’ll blend equipment troubleshooting with facility electrical maintenance to keep manufacturing and research operations online and on schedule.

A day in the life

Start your shift reviewing preventive maintenance tasks and safety checks. Move from a controls cabinet where you’re tracing a fault to a motor starter, to a production line where a sensor failure needs rapid diagnosis. Later, you’ll pull new conduit for a piece of test equipment, update drawings, and restore lighting in a high-bay area—all while coordinating with operations to minimize downtime.

What you’ll do

  • Execute preventive and corrective electrical maintenance across industrial machinery and building systems
  • Diagnose and repair issues with motors, control panels, circuits, sensors, switches, and related components
  • Support facility power: lighting, distribution, building equipment, and general electrical service
  • Install, modify, and repair wiring, conduit, fixtures, and associated hardware
  • Quickly identify root causes of equipment failures to reduce downtime
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Maintain and improve machine controls and building electrical infrastructure

What you bring

  • 3+ years in industrial electrical maintenance
  • Hands-on troubleshooting in manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, or commercial settings
  • Strong command of circuits, controls, and industrial equipment
  • Ability to read and apply schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  • Proficiency with electrical test instruments and common hand tools
