Manufacturing Systems Industrial Engineer — Precision Machining

Manufacturing Systems Industrial Engineer — Precision Machining

Help Atlas Fibre orchestrate how work moves—cleanly, quickly, and predictably—through precision machining, fabrication, and light assembly. In this role, you’ll partner with Production, Production Control, Cell Leads, Quality, Tooling, and Manufacturing Engineering to elevate work readiness, kitting, material flow, ERP accuracy, visual control, and execution stability from order release to shipment.

Why this role matters

When standard work is crisp and materials arrive where and when they should, setups shrink, queues fall, and delivery stays on track. You’ll be the catalyst that aligns process, people, and systems.

Your impact

  • Institutionalize 6S across production areas and sustain it with leadership and cell support.
  • Author and maintain standard work that governs production flow, setup preparation, kitting, material movement, handoffs, and repeatability.
  • Drive setup reduction (SMED): strengthen pre-stage activities, reduce setup variation, and improve point-of-use readiness.
  • Ensure work readiness by confirming that required inputs are staged, visible, and prepared before release to execution.
  • Deploy time-based measurement to baseline setup, wait, and queue times; quantify work vs. wait; and track plan vs. actual and budget-to-actual variance.
  • Operate directly within the ERP to safeguard order status accuracy, labor reporting, routing fidelity, inventory transactions, and execution tracking.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in a CNC machining environment required (mills, lathes, or other high-mix operations preferred).
  • Demonstrated capability with 6S, standard work, SMED, material flow, time studies, work measurement, and process documentation.
  • ERP proficiency preferred, spanning work order status, routings, labor reporting, inventory movements, and production visibility.
  • Strong documentation skills that translate to clear, usable standards.
  • Bachelor’s in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or related) preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Who thrives here

A hands-on, shop-floor engineer who observes first, documents facts, uncovers waste, and implements practical standards that boost consistency, visibility, and confidence.

Capabilities and tools

  • Core strengths: Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering; CNC Tooling; ERP & MRP Systems
  • Technologies you’ll use: ERP Software
