What you’ll do
- Set up and run die casting machines to meet quality, safety, and output targets.
- Visually inspect parts and verify the condition of dies throughout production.
- Remove/replace die casting dies, adjust machine parameters, and prepare equipment for production runs.
- Obtain Supervisor or Group Leader sign-off on setup before running.
- Assist maintenance with repairs as instructed to sustain uptime.
- Configure and operate auxiliary equipment: ladle, auto-spray, robotic systems, and trim press.
- Follow gauging and part-checking procedures on the prescribed timeline.
- Work from verbal instructions and Process Sheets.
Minimum qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required); technical diploma preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in a die casting environment.
Physical and environmental expectations
- Standing role with walking, bending, and stooping; heavier material handling may occur during setup.
- Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying: 5 lbs. constantly, 35 lbs. frequently, 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Potential hazards include serious cuts, burns, bruises, and possible permanent injury; goggles and heavy gloves required. Safe practices reduce risk.
- Regular exposure to heat, dirt, grease, fumes, and noise above 85 dB (hearing protection required when exposure exceeds 85 dB).
- Tools/equipment: wrenches, mallet, chisel, screwdrivers; hoists and lift/hand trucks for die movement and installation.

- Comfort taking verbal direction from a supervisor.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret simple drawings.
