Turbine Repair Welding Specialist (GTAW/GMAW/SMAW)

At our Westside of Jacksonville facility, you’ll arrive to a clean, well-equipped shop, review engineering drawings, and set up GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW equipment to restore critical gas and steam turbine components. Your work keeps heavy industrial equipment running safely and efficiently.

Pay: $24–$30/hr

What your day looks like

• Interpret blueprints, repair procedures, and welding specifications before you strike an arc.
• Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Execute precision weld build-up, restoration, fabrication, and repair on turbine and other industrial components.
• Control preheat and interpass temperatures and complete required post‑weld operations.
• Grind, blend, contour, and polish welds to meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements.
• Collaborate closely with machinists, inspectors, and supervisors to hit repair targets and quality standards.
• Maintain strict compliance with company safety policies and quality systems.

Alloys and gauges you’ll master

• 300 Series Stainless Steels
• 400 Series Stainless Steels
• Hastelloy‑X
• Inconel alloys
• Aluminum
• Silicon Bronze
• Carbon and low‑alloy steels
• Thin-gauge work down to 0.060 inches while preserving dimensional and metallurgical integrity

Preferred background

• Hands-on experience repairing gas and steam turbine components.
• Proficiency welding diaphragms, nozzle segments, combustion hardware, casings, rotors, and related parts.
• Familiarity with NDE practices, including liquid penetrant (PT) and magnetic particle (MT).
• Comfort working to precision machining tolerances and tight fit-up requirements.
• Current AWS welding certifications are a plus.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

Physical requirements

• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, bend, and kneel in an industrial shop environment.
• Safely operate welding, grinding, and material-handling equipment.
