We’re hiring experienced OD/ID Grinding Specialists and Turning (Lathe) Machinists to take on complex aerospace and gear industry parts in a fast-paced job shop. If you thrive on tight tolerances and ownership from setup to finish, this is your arena.
A day in the life
OD/ID Grinding Specialist
- Set up and operate OD/ID cylindrical grinders for high-complexity parts
- Dial in to demanding tolerances with confidence and consistency
- Interpret detailed prints and verify dimensional accuracy
- Support a precision-first environment with rigorous attention to detail
Turning (Lathe) Machinist
- Independently perform setups on turning lathes
- Program, calculate offsets, and run your own setups end-to-end
- Read prints and produce parts from raw material
- Work efficiently through frequent setup changes typical of a job shop
Shifts & Schedule
- 1st Shift: 5:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM (10% night shift differential)
- Average 55-hour work week with heavy overtime
- 2–3 shorter Saturday shifts per month (about 6 hours each)
Pay & Earning Potential
- Up to approximately $40/hour for master-class and elite aerospace/gear-level talent
- $100K+ per year potential with consistent overtime
- Frequent raises per union contract

What you bring
For OD/ID Grinding
- Demonstrated, strong OD/ID grinding experience (must be clearly shown on your resume)
- Background in a precision machining environment
- Aerospace or gear industry experience preferred
- High-precision contract shop experience is highly regarded
For Turning (Lathe)
- Proven ability to perform setups independently
- Capability to program, perform calculations, and run your own setups
- Confident reading prints and making parts from scratch
- Comfortable with frequent setups in a job-shop environment
