A day in the life
At 7:00 AM, you step onto a highly automated production floor at a leading global consumer products manufacturer. With the day-shift team, you review the CMMS queue and plan the mix of preventive, corrective, and predictive work. By mid-morning you might be aligning an Engel press after a mold change; by early afternoon, you are troubleshooting a pneumatic fault on a pick-and-place system and validating a repair on a Milacron machine. Throughout the day, you partner with production, engineering, and fellow techs to protect uptime and keep quality on target—safely, efficiently, and with pride.
What you will do
- Execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on injection molding assets and automation (Engel, Milacron, robotics, conveyors, pick-and-place systems).
- Diagnose and resolve issues across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Service auxiliary equipment such as dryers, chillers, mold temperature controllers, and vacuum systems.
- Support mold changes, machine setups, and precision alignment to ensure production readiness.
- Perform routine inspections and record accurate findings in the CMMS.
- Assist with installing, starting up, and commissioning new equipment and automation upgrades.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to raise OEE.
- Follow OSHA and internal safety procedures at all times; take on additional duties as needed.
