CNC Brake Press Operator Job Summary:
A diverse and growing metal fabrication shop is looking to add a CNC Brake Press Programmer & Operator to its team. This role is essential to our commitment to producing high-quality, precision-formed sheet metal components for a wide range of industrial applications. CNC Brake Press Operator Requirements:
- Operate Strippit LVD CNC and NC Brake Presses
- Operate CNC and manual press brake equipment to form sheet metal parts according to engineering drawings and production requirements.
- Set up machines, select appropriate tooling, and adjust back gauges and bend sequences for optimal accuracy.
- Interpret blueprints, flat patterns, and work orders with a high level of precision.
- Perform first-article inspections and verify part dimensions using calipers, protractors, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Maintain consistent quality throughout production runs by monitoring machine performance and making necessary adjustments.
- Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading sheet metal using hoists or manual methods.
Schedule:
1st Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday, 1/2 days on Saturdays for overtime sometimes available
Pay: $20-$26/hr based on experience
CNC Brake Press Operator Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience operating a press brake in a fabrication or manufacturing environment (experience with CNC press brakes preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, bend deductions, and fabrication symbols.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal materials, thicknesses, bend allowances, and forming characteristics.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Forklift or overhead crane certification.
- Experience with Amada, Accurpress, Cincinnati, or similar CNC press brake systems
