A day in this role

It’s 8:30 a.m. You review your pipeline, prioritize warm leads, and jump into targeted outreach. By mid-morning, you’re scoping a shipper’s truckload needs and crafting a solution that pairs cost, capacity, and service. After lunch, you’re negotiating buy and sell rates, confirming carrier coverage, and aligning pickup windows. Before you wrap, you update the CRM, track active loads in the TMS, and follow up with customers to ensure on-time delivery and satisfaction.

What you’ll own

  • Account growth: Build and expand a profitable book of business; deepen existing relationships with consistent, value-driven communication.
  • Solution design: Create tailored transportation strategies that fit customers’ requirements and timelines.
  • Carrier partnerships: Nurture trust with carriers and strategic capacity providers to ensure reliability and service.
  • Rate strategy & margins: Negotiate competitive buy/sell rates, monitor market dynamics, and identify margin-growth opportunities.
  • Execution & issue resolution: Coordinate shipments end-to-end and proactively resolve delays or exceptions.
  • Market intelligence: Track pricing trends, capacity shifts, and industry developments to inform decisions and improve performance.
