Position Summary

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing in‑process, first-article, and final inspections to ensure products meet established specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards. This role requires strong proficiency with precision measuring tools—such as micrometers, calipers, and gage blocks—as well as experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and related inspection methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections on incoming materials, in‑process components, and finished products.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Utilize precision inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and gage block setups.
  • Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to verify complex geometries and tolerances.
  • Document inspection results using established forms, digital systems, or quality software.
  • Identify nonconforming materials and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Maintain records of inspections and test results as required by internal procedures and customer standards.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Ensure all measuring instruments are calibrated and used correctly.
  • Assist in maintaining ISO/AS quality standards (if applicable).

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control inspection within a manufacturing, machining, aerospace, or related environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, height gauges, and other precision instruments.
  • Hands-on experience with CMM operation, including setup and basic programming (preferred).
  • Ability to interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) accurately.
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques such as first-article inspection, sampling plans, and in‑process checks.
  • Solid communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

  • Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Experience using software such as PC‑DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or similar CMM platforms.
  • Background in machining or manufacturing processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
