Paper Bag Converting Operator
Location: Tolleson, AZ
Starting pay: $20.96/hour
A day in this role
You arrive to a clean, safety-first production floor. After a quick handoff with the Shift Lead, you review the docket for the next run. You load paper, dial in size settings, mount cylinders, and fine‑tune pressures, tensions, and ink distribution so the first bags off the line meet spec. When the line is running, you’re scanning prints and seams, logging quality checks, and addressing stoppages fast. You keep the area organized, complete production paperwork, and ensure food safety and GMP standards are followed from start to finish.
Core responsibilities
- Set up and operate bag converting machines and support equipment to turn paper into printed, functional bags that meet quality requirements
- Read and verify line orders/dockets and align printing requirements with job specifications
- Load paper, adjust machine size settings, mount cylinders, and calibrate pressure, tension, and ink distribution
- Troubleshoot and resolve stoppages and mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Conduct and document in-process quality checks on materials produced
- Uphold food safety and GMP practices at all times
- Complete daily production paperwork accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Schedule
- Days: 7am – 7pm
- Nights: 7pm – 7am
- 223 schedule
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work 12‑hour rotating day and night shifts and overtime as needed
- Willingness to complete company-required training
- You should be proficient in: Machine Setups for Production Runs
