Lead the transformation of aging solar assets
We’re seeking a Program Manager to own preconstruction for utility-scale solar repower projects within Transmission & Substation (T&S). This is a 12-month W-2 contract role focused on taking projects from development handoff to construction readiness—on time, on budget, and without compromising safety or quality.
Your impact
- Turn existing site assessments into actionable repower designs that improve performance and constructability
- Establish integrated schedules, budgets, and risk registers across a portfolio of projects
- Guide multidisciplinary engineering (electrical, civil, structural, mechanical) and manage design reviews
- Drive utility interconnection studies, grid integration requirements, and T&S coordination
- Orchestrate permitting strategies with environmental partners and interface with agencies, utilities, and AHJs
- Ensure adherence to codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Shape procurement: equipment specifications, vendor prequalification, and contract negotiations
- Manage safe harbor equipment and renewable tax credit compliance timelines
- Monitor budgets and forecasts; support cost capitalization and financial reporting
- Run project reviews, lead milestone presentations, and coordinate turnover to operations and commissioning prep
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline
- 6+ years in utility-scale renewable preconstruction project management or engineering
- Hands-on experience with utility interconnection processes
- Deep knowledge of utility-scale solar construction; PMP a plus, not required
Technical toolkit
- Solar PV and battery storage fundamentals
- Power systems, grid interconnection, and utility regulatory landscape
- Environmental permitting and compliance experience
- Knowledge of safe harbor provisions and renewable energy tax credits
- Proficiency with PM software, scheduling platforms, and Excel

Pay and benefits
Estimated base pay: $50.00/hr to $55.00/hr, dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills. As a W-2 employee, you’ll have access to competitive benefits. Most positions include:
