Join Westinghouse in Waterford, CT as a Mechanical Quality Control Inspector and spend your days safeguarding the integrity of parts, piping, welds, and heavy machinery that power nuclear operations.
You arrive on-site and review the day’s work packages. First stop: a visual and non-destructive examination (NDT) of critical welds. Using precision tools—calipers, micrometers—and Level II/III NDE methods, you confirm every feature aligns with design blueprints and technical specs. Before any equipment is installed, you validate material test reports (MTRs), verify calibration logs, and sign off on inspection packages. If something isn’t right, you document the nonconformance, halt the defective work, and drive corrective actions to closure. Throughout, you collaborate with the Site Manager to prioritize inspections and keep schedules on track.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly pay range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $60.00 per hour.
