Founding Business Development Representative

About the Role

A fast-growing, Y Combinator–backed AI voice automation startup is hiring its first sales team member. As the Founding BDR, you will own pipeline development for a high-demand voice AI product, shape the sales playbook from scratch, and build the initial go-to-market engine that scales with the business. This is a rare opportunity to have a direct, lasting impact on the company's growth trajectory.

What You'll Do

  • Generate qualified pipeline to drive significant revenue growth over the next year.
  • Identify the right prospects across target markets and engage them through tailored outreach.
  • Drive multi-channel outreach campaigns spanning email, LinkedIn, and phone.
  • Build and nurture relationships with prospective and existing customers.
  • Manage pipeline rigorously and maintain CRM tooling with accurate, up-to-date data.
  • Help shape the GTM motion, build a repeatable sales process, and continuously refine outreach strategies.

What We're Looking For

  • Required: Prior experience in a Sales or Business Development role — this is a dealbreaker.
  • Experience working in early-stage or fast-moving startup environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a GTM motion and a repeatable sales process.
  • Track record of generating qualified pipeline and contributing to revenue growth.
  • Proficiency with multi-channel outreach (email, LinkedIn, phone) and CRM tools.
  • Strong business acumen — ability to quickly understand the problems and needs of different companies.
  • Fluency in both English and German.
  • Hands-on mindset; comfortable with unglamorous foundational work.
  • Strong communicator with a collaborative, low-ego attitude.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $50,000–$55,000 annually.
  • Work alongside a team with backgrounds at top-tier consulting and technology firms.

Location

  • Based in Berlin, Germany — fully on-site, 5 days per week.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
