Manufacturing Process Optimization Engineer (Coatings & Material Handling)

A day in this role

You start by opening a set of Power BI dashboards you built—uptime and downtime trends jump out at you. A coating line’s performance dipped on second shift, so you head to the floor, review process parameters, and partner with operators to isolate the cause. By mid-morning, you’re mapping a material handling flow that’s creating inventory congestion and aligning it with production planning needs. In the afternoon, you meet with Quality and Commercial to prioritize product quality improvements, then dive into equipment data to validate a continuous improvement project you’re coordinating in the Material Handling Department.

What you will do

  • Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing systems and processes, with a focus on the Material Handling Department.
  • Lead product quality enhancement initiatives in partnership with Operations, Quality, and Commercial teams.
  • Analyze process equipment operation to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
  • Coordinate and execute continuous improvement projects tied to production planning and inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports, including uptime/downtime analytics, to inform decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot complex manufacturing and coating process issues and implement durable countermeasures.

What you bring

  • 5+ years as a process engineer with a strong record of designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on ability to diagnose and resolve complex manufacturing and coating process challenges.
  • Experience improving industrial production planning or material handling processes.
  • Professional experience creating Power BI reports and building uptime/downtime reporting.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
