About TekPro

TekPro partners with advanced manufacturers nationwide. We are representing a long-standing aerospace components producer seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive new product introduction, elevate machining processes, and enhance quality and throughput. This is an on-site position collaborating daily with production, quality, and customer engineering teams.

A day in this role

You start by reviewing a new aerospace print and translating customer requirements into a manufacturable plan. You map sequencing, select tools, and sketch fixturing concepts. Before lunch, you build the BOM and routing in the ERP and create item masters that keep data clean and traceable. In the afternoon, you are on the floor validating the first article, resolving a workholding challenge, and updating detailed work instructions. You wrap the day by closing out a root cause investigation, communicating flow-down requirements to a supplier, and documenting improvements to reinforce the Quality Management System. Throughout, you maintain an organized workspace and a reliable, positive approach, supporting repeat jobs to ensure consistency.

What you will own

  • Create and maintain BOMs, routings, and item masters in the ERP system
  • Review contracts for new parts to determine materials, documentation, and flow-down requirements
  • Analyze prints, drawings, specifications, and requirements to develop efficient manufacturing processes
  • Interpret GD&T, work instructions, and in-process control plans
  • Collaborate with customers to clarify drawings and specifications or discuss potential design improvements
  • Support production in resolving tooling, fixturing, and machining issues
  • Design or redesign fixtures, workholding, and tooling for production and quality needs
  • Develop process drawings and detailed work instructions
  • Assist with estimating related to process steps, tolerances, and manufacturability concerns
  • Manage internal, customer, and regulatory requirement flow-downs to suppliers and vendors
  • Participate in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities
  • Support repeat jobs and maintain consistency of established processes
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and demonstrate a positive, reliable work ethic
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of the Quality Management System through process improvements and compliance
  • Work effectively across teams and with supplier partners

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years with CAD/CAM such as Mastercam, Unigraphics, or SolidWorks
  • Demonstrated ability to design workholding and fixturing and select appropriate tooling
  • Proven skill in sequencing part processes to meet quality, cost, and throughput objectives
  • Strong troubleshooting across fixturing, tooling, machining strategy, and process flow
  • Minimum 5 years in a CNC machining or precision fabrication environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and creation and maintenance of BOMs, routings, and item masters
  • Experience working with customers and cross-functional teams on technical issues
