Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Are you the go-to problem solver when equipment won’t cooperate?

Imagine joining a privately held manufacturer that began in 1924 and now supports customers around the globe—from nine U.S. locations to facilities in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. At Teknor Apex, we build lasting relationships and deliver custom compound solutions that help our customers create better products.

Your mission

On our overnight crew, you’ll own asset uptime. Across four 10-hour shifts (10:00 PM–8:00 AM) with no weekend requirements, you’ll anticipate issues, fix failures fast, and leave a clear trail in the CMMS so the next shift hits the ground running.

What challenges will you tackle?

  • Install, service, and repair mechanical and electrical systems—and coach newer techs while you’re at it.
  • Live our safety-first mindset in every task and area.
  • Use meters and other test gear to diagnose electrical circuits.
  • Run and size conduit; pull wire; install breakers, fuses, starters, motors, and more—always aligned with the National Electric Code.
  • Track down faults in AC and DC motors and motor drives.
  • Dig into PLC operation: read ladder logic, troubleshoot I/O, and support restore-to-run.
  • Execute PMs on schedule and log all work in the CMMS.
  • Decipher schematics, OEM manuals, and technical bulletins to accelerate repairs.
  • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and JLG equipment.
  • Plan your work, hit timelines, and keep your area spotless.
  • Flex for short-notice overtime when production needs spike.
  • Occasionally drive a company vehicle/truck—valid driver’s license required.
  • And step into other related duties as needed.

Do you bring the right toolkit?

  • Associate’s in Mechatronics or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, or equivalent education/experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Comfort lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Clear communicator—able to talk, listen, and speak effectively with the team.
  • Electrical experience is highly preferred.

What’s in it for you?

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage with extremely low deductibles.
  • Low-cost insurance—80% paid by the company.
  • Wellness program that can significantly lower your premiums.
  • Up to 7% employer contribution to your 401(k).
  • Paid Vacation and Paid Holidays.
  • Sign on Bonus.
  • Structured pay increases in your first year plus annual merit raises thereafter.
  • Quarterly Perfect Attendance Incentives.
  • Employee Recognition Program with points you can redeem for a wide variety of products.
