Mid-Level Software Engineer

A production issue is a chance to understand a system better—and leave it easier to run. As a Mid-Level Software Engineer focused on DevOps at Caddis Solutions, you’ll help keep a live application suite available, reliable, and responsive. Your work connects the immediate satisfaction of solving a problem with lasting improvements to automation, deployments, and monitoring.

The work you’ll take on

• Get services back on track. Monitor live production operations, identify disruptions, diagnose issues, and take corrective action to restore system health.
• Turn repeat tasks into automation. Put strong Linux command-line skills and Bash or Python scripting to work investigating problems and reducing manual effort.
• Make deployments dependable. Manage Docker and Kubernetes services, create Helm charts, and maintain GitLab CI pipelines for repeatable releases.
• Follow the evidence. Use distributed logging and monitoring through the ELK Stack or Prometheus and Grafana to understand performance and troubleshoot in real time.
• Keep the environment consistent. Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, apply Infrastructure-as-Code with Ansible, and collaborate through Git version control.

You’ll draw on experience diagnosing production issues and working with these database, container, delivery, and monitoring tools. If you enjoy connecting the clues across an application and its infrastructure, there’s plenty here to get into.

Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or the Atlassian tools Jira and Confluence is a plus.

Experience and education

This role requires at least 5 years of relevant experience with a qualifying bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a qualifying master’s degree, or 7 years of relevant experience without a bachelor’s degree.
