Summary
The Database Architect is responsible for implementing database management objectives and designing solutions that support complex data requirements. This role involves analyzing system data needs, designing data structures, and establishing interrelationships between database fields to support software solutions. The Database Architect will leverage expertise in various technical areas—including data security, telecommunications, and information management—to ensure robust and secure database architectures. With a strong understanding of best practices, this role demands a high level of technical knowledge to guide and support the implementation of comprehensive database solutions that align with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

Database Design and Implementation:
- Implement database management strategies and define objectives to meet business and technical requirements.
- Analyze system data requirements, designing data structures that support efficient and scalable solutions.
- Define interrelationships between database fields to ensure clarity and consistency in data use across the system.

Technical Knowledge and Solution Development:
- Apply advanced knowledge in areas such as data security, telecommunications, and information management to create secure and compliant database solutions.
- Provide expert insight into best practices, concepts, and procedures across multiple technical fields.

Data Integration and Optimization:
- Work with development teams to clarify data requirements and optimize data use within applications.
- Ensure database designs align with enterprise data architecture and support seamless integration between systems.

Documentation and Standards Development:
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for database structures, relationships, and procedures.
- Establish and enforce standards for database management, including security protocols, data access controls, and data integrity measures.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Training:
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and provide guidance on database design best practices.
- Offer training and support to application development teams and end-users on effective database usage and data security practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in database architecture, design, or management, with a demonstrated ability to work across various technical fields.
- Strong knowledge of database concepts, data security protocols, and experience with telecommunications and information management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Location Requirement:
The ideal candidate should reside in the Metro Atlanta, GA area. While this position is primarily remote, there may be occasional requirements to report in person as needed for team meetings or project-related tasks.
