When your shift starts, you’ll check your queues and prioritize what’s next: receiving today’s inbound freight, updating locations, and assembling outbound orders. You’ll count and receive items into the computer system, verify accuracy, then sort and slot products onto racks, bins, or shelves by product code or predetermined sequence. As orders drop, you’ll build pallets from stock and move them to the packing area. Throughout the day you’ll complete daily cycle counts, update product maintenance locations, and resolve any freight claim discrepancies. You’ll safely operate company equipment—reach trucks and forklifts—to load and unload trailers, and you’ll inspect and process returns back into inventory. You wrap up by responding to any remaining queues and helping keep the warehouse clean and compliant with sanitation and safety codes.
