Receiving Clerk

AMI Aviation Service is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some experience or familiarity with aviation, aerospace, or manufacturing environments and a basic understanding of receiving, inventory control, and material handling procedures.

This is an entry-level position suited for an individual who is organized, dependable, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, traceability, and compliance with quality standards are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming aviation parts, components, raw materials, and supplies against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
• Perform basic visual inspections of incoming materials to identify damage, discrepancies, or missing items.
• Verify part numbers, quantities, serial numbers, and other identifying information for accuracy.
• Review and organize receiving documentation, including Certificates of Conformity (COC), material certifications, and other applicable traceability records.
• Enter receiving information accurately into the company's inventory management system.
• Properly label, identify, and organize received materials according to company procedures.
• Assist with inventory management, stock organization, and material movement.
• Identify and report damaged, incorrect, or nonconforming materials to the appropriate department.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Quality Control, and Warehouse personnel to resolve receiving discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving and storage area.
• Follow company procedures, quality requirements, and applicable aviation industry standards.
• Support cycle counts, inventory audits, and other warehouse activities as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience or exposure to aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred.
• Entry-level candidates with relevant industry knowledge or training are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of receiving, shipping, warehousing, or inventory procedures.
• Familiarity with aviation parts, part numbers, and material traceability is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, and basic technical documentation.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and data entry.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written instructions and established procedures.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with other departments.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

• 6 months to 1 year of experience in receiving, inventory, warehouse operations, aviation, or manufacturing preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality systems such as AS9100 or AS9120 is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of aviation documentation, material certifications, and traceability requirements.
• Previous experience using ERP or inventory management software.
• Understanding of proper material handling, identification, and storage practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40–50 lbs, with appropriate assistance or equipment when needed.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
