Talent AI Operator

About the Role

This is a new kind of role at an early-stage AI recruiting platform (pre-seed backed) that has already scaled to marketplace proportions — tens of thousands of candidates and hundreds of startup customers. The platform uses autonomous AI agents to source, message, qualify, and schedule candidates end-to-end. You are not a recruiter. You are the human who makes that autonomous system actually work.

Think air traffic controller, not pilot. The agents handle the volume; you supervise, intervene, and continuously improve what they do.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise AI agent pipelines: Monitor live candidate conversations, flag errors, and step in when human judgment is needed
  • Handle high-stakes moments: Senior candidates, tricky objections, compensation negotiations — the conversations where a human still wins
  • Train the agents: Review outputs, label good and bad responses, write examples that make the AI smarter over time
  • Quality control at scale: Audit candidate matches, outreach quality, and conversion rates across thousands of weekly touchpoints
  • Close placements: Guide candidates through final stages, handle offers, and ensure successful hires
  • Build the playbook: Document what works, create SOPs, and define how humans and AI agents collaborate effectively

Growth Path

Strong performers can grow into Account Lead (owning client relationships), Agent Training Lead (owning the AI feedback loop), or Operations Lead roles as the company scales.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 2+ years of talent operations or recruitment experience at early-stage tech startups (pre-seed/seed)
  • Proven ability to design and optimize end-to-end recruitment processes: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and candidate experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, and leadership
  • Experience using data to drive recruitment decisions — KPIs, dashboards, A/B tests
  • Ability to work on-site in San Francisco (hackerhouse option available)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience at AI/ML-oriented startups with an understanding of AI-focused hiring needs
  • Familiarity with modern tech stacks (TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL) to communicate effectively with engineers

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped performance-based compensation tied to placements — top performers earn significantly more
  • Performance-based equity: top performers receive equity grants after a 90-day performance window, with potential for meaningful ownership as scope expands
  • Health insurance
  • Visa sponsorship available
  • Optional: live and work from the San Francisco hackerhouse

Location

Based in San Francisco, CA. On-site presence expected; remote flexibility may be available for the right candidate.
