Industrial Laser Service Specialist (Mitsubishi)

Role snapshot
Be the go‑to field expert for Mitsubishi laser cutting systems, delivering on‑site support across the region and, at times, nationwide or internationally. We’ll equip you with thorough training so you can grow a lasting career in manufacturing technology.
What you will tackle
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex issues on Mitsubishi laser equipment at customer locations.
- Perform mechanical/electrical inspections, disassembly/rebuilds, alignments, and system adjustments.
- Offer remote phone support when on‑site service isn’t immediately required.
- Explain findings, repair timelines, and outcomes in professional, customer‑friendly language.
- Use schematics, wiring and block diagrams to drive accurate fault isolation and repairs.
- Record service actions, root causes, and results; submit timely, accurate expense reports.
- Maintain company tools, test equipment, and service vehicles in top condition.
- Assist with additional tasks that enhance customer satisfaction and team operations.
Minimum qualifications
- Experience with machining, manufacturing processes, or industrial machinery.
- Skill with diagnostic and measurement tools such as voltmeters, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Proficiency with Windows computers and service software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working at heights as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel extensively Monday–Friday.

Preferred credentials
- Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, or similar.
- Demonstrated strength in diagnosing and resolving both electrical and mechanical faults.
- Ability to read machine manuals and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with electrical measurement tools (e.g., voltmeter, oscilloscope).
- Experience with precision metrology (e.g., indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges).
Schedule & travel
Travel Monday–Friday with most returns home by Friday evening. Primarily regional travel with possible nationwide or occasional international trips. Comprehensive training provided.
Work environment
- Customer facilities—mostly indoors—with exposure to industrial noise and temperature variation.
- Frequent driving via personal vehicle or approved rental; mileage or rental reimbursed per policy.
- Occasional overtime; safe motor‑vehicle operation required.
Physical demands
- Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, and hand‑intensive work.
- Lift/carry up to 20 lbs. regularly; up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Push/pull equipment up to 50 lbs.; heavier loads may use carts or mechanical aids.
- Good visual acuity with color recognition.
