Multi-Axis Lathe Programmer & Setup Machinist
TekPro is recruiting on behalf of a premier aerospace and defense manufacturer of power transmission components. We are adding 2 experienced CNC lathe experts who excel in machine setup, at-the-control program edits, and working across multiple brands, inside a modern 150,000 sq. ft., air-conditioned facility.
Role Overview
- Translate work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, quality plans, materials, specifications, and OP. drawings into a precise turning strategy using GD&T.
- Install and adjust three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, and attachments; load stock and prepare feeds.
- Run first articles and sample pieces; verify positions and dimensions per the OP. drawing and quality plan.
- Execute drilling, grooving, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations to spec.
- Measure, diagnose, and resolve issues; reprogram, adjust offsets, and replace worn tools as needed.
- Adhere to safety and quality systems; maintain preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs.
- Document production and quality data; communicate on shift handoffs for uninterrupted throughput.
- Advance your knowledge through training and technical reading; proactively seek ways to add value.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years operating CNC lathes and mills.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings; strong understanding of GD&T and solid basic math.
- Proven program editing capability and comfort with several machine brands.
- Proficiency in G-Code and machine setups for production runs.
Preferred Experience
- DMG/Mori Seiki NT4300/1500 turn/mill.
- Gear manufacturing background.
