For over half a century, B&A Precision has supported Aerospace, Defense, and Medical programs with dependable CNC manufacturing. We’re looking for a CNC Turning Operations & Setup Technician who thrives on transforming blueprints into finished components with repeatable precision.
Imagine this scenario
You receive a new job packet. You study the print, interpret GD&T callouts, and map your approach. You set up a 2- or 3-axis CNC horizontal lathe with Fanuc controls, confirm tool lengths and wear, validate G‑code, and run a first‑piece. With the right gages, you verify critical features and tweak as needed. Production runs smoothly—and you know it’s right because you measured it.
Where you’ll make an impact
- Set up and run CNC lathes (2- and 3-axis) with Fanuc controls.
- Apply solid G‑code programming knowledge to optimize and confirm processes.
- Interpret blueprints; use working knowledge of GD&T to achieve specification.
- Verify both first‑piece and in‑process/production dimensions with appropriate instruments and gages.
- Collaborate in a team-based environment to maintain throughput and quality.
- Utilize bar feeding systems when applicable (experience is a plus).
- Report to the shop President; support efficient workflows and high standards.
What you’ll need to succeed
- At least 3 years of experience in CNC lathe setup and operation.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls; strong grasp of G‑code fundamentals.
- Blueprint reading proficiency; working knowledge of GD&T is desirable.
- Competence with precision measuring instruments and inspection practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
- Comfort working collaboratively as part of a team.
