Aegis has partnered with a long-standing manufacturing company in Chicago looking for a 1st Shift Maintenance Technician to support daily troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance across their production equipment. This is a hands-on, multicraft role focused on mechanical work with some light electrical troubleshooting (about 70% mechanical / 30% electrical).

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems: pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, motors
Perform light electrical troubleshooting up to 480V
Support basic PLC troubleshooting (I/O checks, sensors, faults)
Complete daily repairs and preventative maintenance tasks
Enter work orders & PM tasks into a computer system
Work hands-on across the facility to keep equipment running smoothly
3–5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing
Strong mechanical abilities (pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.)
Electrical troubleshooting experience up to 480V
Ability to diagnose issues quickly and work independently
Comfortable in a production setting (noise, heat/cold, dust, etc.)
Forklift/overhead crane operation experience (or willingness to learn)
Day shift ONLY — no rotating or night work
40–45 hours/week max — rare work/life balance in maintenance
