If you thrive on precision, safety, and accountability, this leadership role anchors the distribution heartbeat for a food manufacturing site. Your mission: make every move in, within, and out of the warehouse deliberate and dependable.

Your Core Outcomes

  • Inbound/Outbound Mastery: Coordinate carriers, transfers, and waste bale movements so docks turn fast and paperwork matches product.
  • People Leadership: Hire, train, evaluate, and coach shipping/receiving teams; apply corrective and disciplinary actions where appropriate.
  • Process Ownership: Write, maintain, and enforce warehouse SOPs that scale.
  • Equipment Uptime: Oversee tow motor/forklift maintenance and repairs.
  • Food-Safety Compliance: Align daily operations to Quality standards and HACCP/ASI requirements.
  • Performance Visibility: Establish and track metrics that reveal safety, quality, service, and cost performance.
  • Safety First: Enforce corporate/plant rules; ensure a safe workplace and strict PPE adherence (steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair/beard nets, etc.).
  • Organized Floor: Keep areas staged, clean, and audit-ready as inventory arrives and moves.
  • Total Flow Control: Coordinate all shipping and receiving for finished goods, raw materials, and miscellaneous items.
  • Operational Accountability: Lead to company goals; hold teams accountable to assigned work.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Provide accurate forecasts of shipping volume and warehouse activity.
  • Inventory Integrity: Partner with Finished Goods and Roll Stock cycle counts; complete inventory counts and weekly zone audits; resolve discrepancies fast across raw, WIP, and finished goods.

  • Join production meetings to align priorities and staging plans.
  • Launch the shift with safety talks and task assignments.
  • Audit PPE and food-safety compliance while monitoring dock turns.
  • Review performance dashboards; follow up on exceptions.
  • Update shipment forecasts and labor plans based on actuals.
