Your impact

  • Translate detailed blueprints and verbal direction into precision machining, including rework when requirements evolve.
  • Independently set up and operate CNC equipment, CMM, FARO Arm, and milling machines to produce compliant parts.
  • Collaborate tightly with engineers and manufacturing teams to meet exacting specifications.
  • Clamp and deburr girders and truck frames to deliver smooth, safe, production-ready surfaces.
  • Measure girders and truck components using precision tools to verify tolerances and quality.
  • Drive consistency across processes and outputs, maintaining rigorous quality standards.
  • Complete daily preventive maintenance and cleaning per standardized checklists.
  • Diagnose and resolve machining and assembly issues quickly with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications that set you up for success

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ machining/fabrication experience or formal technical training; solid CNC G-code programming knowledge (Sinumerik 840D experience is a plus).
  • Background as a machining technician, machine operator, or lathe operator.
  • Expert blueprint reading and strong foundational reading, writing, and math.
  • Proficiency with dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, bore micrometers, and gauges.

Working conditions

  • Frequent walking; reaching; stooping; kneeling; crouching; or crawling.
  • Frequent climbing of stairs, steps, and ladders.
  • Regular work on elevated platforms and overhead tasks.
  • Occasional lifting/moving up to 40 pounds.
  • Visual acuity needs: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled spaces and, if required, in inclement weather.

  • Starting hourly rate: $23.40–$31.66. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
